Sunday at the Sand Bar, Tuesday at The Barracuda Bar

South of Zihuatanejo is a beach that is at least five miles (eight kilometers) long.  On the south end is a beach called Playa de Potasi which received much destruction with the waves and high water of Hurricane Jova (see blog entry "Hurricane Jova").  On a Sunday afternoon, we go to see if the beach is returning and how the damaged restaurants are doing.
At the end of Playa de Potasi is a large lagoon that has restaurants and sandy beaches on its shores near the ocean.  Hurricane Jova has increased the size and decreased the depth of the sand bar that separates the lagoon from the ocean.  It has also increased the size of the beaches on the lagoon near the ocean.
In Mexico, Sunday is a day when the family gets together.  The beaches, lagoon and restaurants are filled with families and extended families.
Lots of them are sitting in the water eating and drinking and generally having fun.

The beach is much more narrow but the water is very shallow.

Texting while swimming...wonder where she stashes the phone?

This is ankle deep here.

The waves break much further out in the bay now.
