Don’t Stop the Carnival

The brochure said the carnival parade was to start at 4:00, our neighbour said 5:00. We arrived at 4:20 it stated at 6:00. It was worth the wait. I love small town parades and Zihuatanejo put on a great parade that went on for 2 hours. We had great seats, right by a large mango tree that hung over the road.

Lots of floats stopped right in front of us, they had not taken the tree into account when they designed the height of their floats.

Almost all of the floats had some kind of Latin music playing followed by choreographed salsa, marangue, and rumba dancers. Even the little kids danced the whole parade! The costumes were astonishing anything from Aztec themed, to Mermaids to traditional Mexican and everything in between.
