We are still in Mexico and we are still in Zihuatanejo. We have changed our airline tickets and we are staying longer. You must be saying “Are they ever going to leave?” or “What happened to the road trip?”. Well our objective on this trip was to find “a unique fixer upper opportunity” and we have had our offer accepted on a building lot. If real estate is location, location, location, we have location, location, location.
In our posting BABY BOOMER HEAVEN we said;
“Playa La Ropa is a beautiful, mile long, wide, palm tree lined beach with restaurants and hotels. Zihua does not have the large hotels and condominium towers as there is a height restriction of 5 floors for hotels, apartments and condos and 3 floors for houses. It’s an active white sand beach that is not crowded, has gentle waves and is good for swimming. It is really beautiful.”
We are within walking distance of the beach and we have a good view over the palm trees and to the ocean. The view from our living area will look like this - if we ever get it built.

Presently, the drive to the airport is through town, the new road to the airport is near the property and half completed. This will increase the traffic on the main road and increase the demand in this area. There are lots of major projects in the works.
As I have mentioned, a lot of Baby Boomers come here and as they age more will want someplace like this we hope. You see car license plates from the USA and Canada frequently.
Our lawyer informed us that the paper work seems in order and I met with the city today to make sure all the services are at the property. Hopefully it will all go smoothly.
As to what and when we are going to build, we don’t know. It all boils down to finding what you think is a good deal and going for it.
