Waiting for the Lawyers- might as well party

It is carnival time in Zihuatanejo and we are going tonight. During the day we take it easy by boarding a water taxi to Playa las Gatas which is a beach near the mouth of the bay and can only be reached by a small footpath or by boat. It is a palm lined beach with outdoor restaurants and is great for snorkeling.

Joanne has bought masks for Bev, Pete and us to wear to carnival.

As we walk from our apartment towards the main square of town, people cheer us and take our picture. As we arrive at the town square where all the activity is happening, we are shot by one camera after another and asked to pose with relatives or friends of the locals. The masks were a huge hit with the crowd.

The decorated square is crowded and has a stage and dance floor.

The kids love our masks and want to dance with us and take our pictures and before you know it our long conga line is weaving its way around the dance floor.
