Jim and Susan Smith

There is something about old friends. The shared history, caring and affection create an instant relaxation and calm.


I met Jim in grade 4 or 5 and he met Susan about 30 years ago. Our children and their children are like brothers and sisters to each other and they are all still the best of friends. It is always a good time when we see each other.
Jim is a sculptor extraordinaire and his work is truly impressive. Check out his website.

In recent years, Susan has been making the onyx lights that you see on the website and selling them at the One of a Kind Show in Toronto.
Jim and Susan live near Madoc, Ontario (about half way between Ottawa and Toronto) in a house that they built together and were married in.

The house and gardens are filled with Jim's art. Even our breakfast souffle seemed like a work of art.

We celebrated Jim's Birthday at a fabulous local restaurant and relaxed at their cottage which is about 20 minutes from their home. It was just what we needed.
