More Real Estate

We spend the morning looking at houses, nothing interesting. On second look the unfinished house on the hill is still appealing - the views, the lot, the vegetation. The real estate agent assures us that because it is owned by an American and that many high priced villas are on El Ejido land. We decide to meet with a builder, do a budget and if it looks good talk to a lawyer.
We spend the afternoon in Rincon de Guayabitas. After a fish and shrimp lunch on the beach, we explore the town. There are lots of homes for sale, a large Expat community, no good real estate office and the place seems tired. Too bad, the beaches are great but it seems that the recession has hit this place hard. It is not for us.
Back at the apartment, I do drawings for our meeting with the builder.
The next day the builder is out of town. Joel, the real estate agent, feels that he understands the drawings and our ideas so we decided to leave Sayulita and our comfortable apartment. The lot that we are interested in is up on the hill above the white truck and near the large green villa.
We go south along the coast through Puerto Vallarta in the rain. It hardly ever rains here at this time of year. There is the largest cruise ship in port that I have ever seen. It must be 20 stories high.

It clears up and the sun is shining as we drive through the Sierra Madre mountains again and even though there was very little clouds in the sky we got a down pour. We couldn't even see a cloud in the sky near us!
It created the most vibrant double rainbow.

As we drive and watch the sunset know that we will be driving in the dark. This is what our friend Paco told us not to do.

We arrive safe but late, in Barra de Navidad, because the time had changed again and we lost an hour – who knew! We have trouble finding a vacancy and end up in a "Neds Beds" by the ocean. Marita will understand the term, "Neds Beds" that I borrowed from her to describe sleazy hotels.
A good dinner at a restaurant that is run by a couple of Germans lifts our spirits.
The main area of town was probably developed in the 1950s and is lively with shops, clubs and restaurants.
Our room is about 150 feet from the ocean and the crashing of the waves is so violent that they shake our room.....all night!!! We share the room with some crickets...big ones...better than cockroaches but not much!
