Puerto Vallarta

This day is spent walking on the boardwalk by the beach in the centre of Puerto Vallarta. Lots of tourists, tourist shops, American food, and Mexicans trying to get American $. The commercial center wraps around the bay and residences line the hillsides above.

They have done a nice job with the boardwalk with many sculptures made of bronze, stone and even amazingly some made of sand. It is a very pleasant walk.

Outside of the centre of town is a long beach that has resorts and towers filled with condos. This is for tourists that want a beach vacation with all the amenities and not what we are really looking for.

On the way back to Sayulita, we drive through Punta Mita with its gated luxury resorts and spas. The condos here start at $250,000 US and there is a villa for sale at $8.5 million. We take the mountain road back to Sayulita in the dark and go through a small community called Tranquilla which might be worth exploring.
